While Google claims Chromebooks do not need an Anti-virus protection, VUPEN identified security vulnerabilities and now Kaspersky Lab warns the Chromebooks will let the cybercriminals to steal informationby building malicious software.

Kaspersky Lab Expert Costin Raiu says when you have all the data available in the cloud, the cybercriminals only need the authentication tokens to access the cloud accounts and this should be addressed as more and more people depend on storing data in the cloud. He also claims the new security defenses such as self-healing and updates are stored in the cloud and not on the computer.
